Acts & Regulations
Along with the Legal Professions Act, there is also a Statutory Instrument that outlines specific regulations for practicing law in The Bahamas. This Instrument covers the guidelines for Membership Dues, Annual General Meetings, Elections of Council Members and the Voting process with in the Bar Association. Also included in this Instrument are application requirements for General & Special Admission to the Bar. This Instrument was made on January 20, 2004 by then Chairman Wayne Munroe and was approved February 6, 2004 by then Governor General Dame Ivy Dumont. As a service to both our members and the general public, we have provided two ways for interested persons to view the Bahamas Bar Association Regulations.
